Protect-A-Child Mesh Pool Fence

Protect-A-Child Mesh Pool Fence

The Protect-A-Child Pool Fence Company opened its doors in 1984. The company’s spark of creation was a drive to create a removable mesh pool fence that would be both stronger and more resistant to ultraviolet light exposure. By 1987, the company had expanded, bringing Protect-A-Child pool fences to families throughout North America. Since then, Protect-A-Child has continued to innovate, bringing new ideas and benefits to the mesh pool fencing market.

Protect-A-Child’s Geographic Reach

Today, Protect-A-Child has a nationwide presence in the United States, with dealers covering all 50 states. The brand is also represented in Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico, as well as outside the U.S. In Canada, Protect-A-Child has dealers in British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec. Dealers in Mexico round out Protect-A-Child’s North American presence.

Overseas, Protect-A-Child mesh fencing is represented by dealers in almost two-dozen countries. These markets include Brazil, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and more. The Protect-A-Child website has a comprehensive dealer page that customers can use to find Protect-A-Child representatives near them.

Protect-A-Child’s Mesh Pool Fencing Innovations

Protect-A-Child has always been dedicated to pushing the mesh pool fence forward. In 1987, the company developed a stronger pool fence post, using PVC inserts to reinforce and strengthen aluminum support posts. The company has continued to focus on the reinforcement of pool fence posts over the years. In the early 1990s, for instance, Protect-A-Child introduced a composite fiberglass post. Protect-A-Child mesh pool fences have been using fiberglass support posts ever since. In 2010, the company even revealed a fiberglass post that they called both “unbreakable” and “unbendable.”

Fence posts haven’t been the only point of innovation for Protect-A-Child. In 1990, the manufacturer developed a self-closing, self-latching pool fence gate—similar to what Guardian Pool Fence Systems would create seven years later. And in 1995, Protect-A-Child patented a Lock-in-Deck design, which makes it possible for parents to twist and lock fence posts into place on their pool decks or patios. This innovation makes it impossible for children to lift or otherwise remove Protect-A-Child mesh fencing after installation.

Protect-A-Child’s vigilance in pushing pool safety forward didn’t go unnoticed. In 2001, the State of Florida reached out and asked Protect-A-Child to consult on new standards for residential swimming pools. Protect-A-Child’s insights helped form the backbone to the resulting Residential Swimming Pool Safety Act—though the company’s fences continue to outstrip most city, state, and federal standards to this day.

Drawbacks of Protect-A-Child’s Pool Safety Fence

Like some other pool safety fence manufacturers—Life Saver Pool Fence Systems, especially—most of the customer feedback about Protect-A-Child fences is positive. These fences are extremely durable, quick to install or disassemble, and come with lifetime warranty coverage. The main drawback, in fact, might be the price. With Protect-A-Child, you get what you pay for, but you also pay for what you get. Protect-A-Child’s innovative pool fences come with high upfront costs. The company also isn’t very transparent with pricing. Buyers who want to get price quotes and comparisons will need to find a dealer near them and call directly.
